As Daisy said in her November Message, this month is about transition. And as the weather transitions, we wear more layers including our dogs and cats. Poppy is a dog bed girl, Pumpkin is a blanket boy, Goldie is a burrower, and Teddy is all over the place. As I looked at all the blankets and beds that I purchased for them based on look and feel, I started to wonder if I was making the best energy-conscious choices for them. Of course, TikTok read my mind and it started serving me all these videos about how many clothes from fast fashion to luxury use polyester. And polyester is plastic. How did I not know that polyester is plastic!? I started to do my research and found the post by
about polyester and learned so much. The ever-so-wise Daisy 🌼 says
“All fiber has its unique vibration which affects the wearer. Sheena sweats a lot so she needs something that’s high-frequency. I would love to sleep on a hand-knit blanket using ethical wool because I’m not too fond of manmade materials. I can sleep deeper in a blanket like that but I’ve never had the opportunity to. Since Sheena knows how to crochet, can I be the first to try that? Marie, you don’t sweat much so I think you’ll do best in linen. Sheena sweats a lot so she does best in a blend of organic materials like bamboo, cotton, and linen.”
Of course, we do anything for Miss Daisy so Sheena has started researching ethically sourced wool yarn to crotchet her a blanket. I started researching dog blankets and beds using natural fibers that are energy & eco-conscious. If you have any recommendations, we would love to know!
With love and harmony,
Marie
